First up a new yarn which is complete and utter luxury in woolly form!
This 4 ply yarn was custom spun for us by Laxtons and we’ve designed it with luxury in mind.
The yarn is 60% Bluefaced Leicester, 20% mulberry sik and 20% baby alpaca. There are 400 meters in each 100 gram skein and we’d recommend this yarn for jumpers, shawls, hats – anything where you want something soft next to your skin.
We wouldn’t suggest this as a sock yarn as the combination of fibers and amount of twist won’t provide the strength and recovery which socks need to last well.
Stitch markers were very popular at Edinburgh, and our little tins of 8 wooden markers all found new homes. So we made more.
We have more needle gauges ready for the update.
Then something that every knitter I know loves – badges. These are laser cut from poplar plywood which we paint, then blued to pin backs.
I love using wood for badges – it’s easy to find wood from sustainable forests, and the wood and paint we use are both biodegradable.
Final photos tomorrow, then the shop update goes live at 1900 UK time on Thursday 29th March.
