New Self Striping Britsock Colours
Posted on
This week is all about self striping sock yarn and we're adding nine new colours to the lineup.
Self striping sock yarn is great fun to knit with as the colour changes are taken care of for you. It's my favourite thing for plain vanilla socks, and the end result always looks so much more impressive than it has any right too.
We've tried to cover a wide range of colour preferences, so there are a couple of very bright options, a few with neutral backgrounds and some paler colours too. Right now the paler colours are catching my eye the most, perhaps because they feel summery and I'd like to hold on to that feeling for a little more.
Duck egg, unicorn tail and watercolour
These yarns are dyed on our Britsock base. This blend of British wools, alpaca and nylon is custom spun for us in Devon by John Arbon, and it's a brilliant sock yarn. Actually it's a great yarn for most things (and right now it's on my needles as I'm knitting one of the new Woolly Wormhead hats which will be released soon).
Flower power, iris and scooby doo
Later this week I'll be blogging about how to make sure the stripe pattern on your socks doen't get disrupted by the heel. I'll also be suggesting some alternative stitch patterns in case you want a chance from plain vanilla socks.
Sweet pea, primary colours on coal and printer ink on charcoal
These yarns are win the update taking place at 1900 on Thursday 27th of August so if you're browsing in the shop before then you won't see them.
