Soothing Stuff
Posted on
Some things take a while to make. Sometimes that’s lovely because there’s so much pleasure to be had in the process.
Midstream by Anna Maltz starts with the sleeves – and those felt quick.
The body is also worked in the round, and it feels like slow and soothing knitting. Each contrast rib stripe is proof of progress. Almost all of the sweater is purled rather than knitted, and that’s been an unexpected pleasure.
I’ve loved reading Anna’s words about this sweater. She writes with such humour and wisdom. You’ll find the pattern and so much more to enjoy in Marlisle.
There’s also the pleasure of working with two of my favourite yarns – the DK BFL Masham and Britsock.
This will be my election night knitting – and I suspect also what I’m knitting over Christmas. That feels pretty much perfect to me.
